I started my career in the Advertising world—in environments ranging from a boutique agency to some of the top worldwide holding companies (Publicis, Omnicom, WPP, IPG)—and have continued to do as a freelancer since 2012. I have created several national ad campaigns, including for Bayer, Novo Nordisk, MEDA, and AbbVie, and have contributed strategy and creative work to several winning pitch teams.
I enjoy art & creative direction, negative space and alignment, guiding a team, and finding a great solution for my clients.
Since 2012, I have been specializing in hand- and custom-lettered logos. I always begin the development process with adjectives (read: brand personality), and finish with a unique, conceptual identity and comprehensive branded look. I have created more than 100 identities in a multitude of industries, from restaurants and beauty to healthcare and education.
I’ve been drawing since early childhood, and pursued my love of Illustration at Savannah College of Art and Design. My illustrations are conceptual, and I have worked in several traditional and digital mediums.
I’ve found that the process of creating an idea for a conceptual illustration has greatly informed my ad campaign concept development process. I’ve also been able to apply my illustrative skills in an agency setting by doing storyboards, manifestos, marker comps, hand-drawn digital icons/assets, and handlettering.
I have enjoyed the opportunities I’ve had to guest-teach, present, and do classroom lectures to students at SCAD (Behance Portfolio Reviews and Illustration Alumni Stories to name those pictured). I also enjoy mentoring, and have done so for 22 recent graduates as they made the transition from students to professionals.
When it comes to creativity, I like to explore many forms of artistic expression. Past projects have included a solo photography show in NYC, a painting series and several gallery shows in Savannah, organizing community events, fashion styling, writing, creating wedding invitations, and designing a lot of concept shoes for fun. Collaborations have included photo shoots, look-books, a prop book for a Disney TV show, and a re-brand featuring local artists, to name a few.
